AUTHOR’S NOTE

In 2020 the World suffered the worst health threat humanity had experienced in centuries. With hundreds of millions locked down in their homes, F. Isabel Campoy and Alma Flor Ada invited readers to open windows to the imagination through this book. Here the readers will find twenty six original poems, each celebrating moments of joy created by diverse gatherings, QuinceaƱeras and Hannukah, Halloween, birthdays or family picnics. Illustrated by images from their art collection, from folk pieces gathered during their far-reaching travels or original paintings by well-known artists, most of them personal friends. This graphic presentation forms a parallel subtext to convey cultural connections and solidarity among peoples from across the World.
